Body of The Formal Letter
The Body: It is the soul of the letter. It contains all the information or news the writer wishes to share with the receiver. While writing the body, strike a friendly, intimate note. Keep sentences short. However, do not beat about the bush. Be precise. And remember to start a new paragraph for each new point.
Example: Write a letter to The Editor of a newspaper pointing out the need for immediate improvement in the roads of your city.

A ride on Chennai roads will give any motor cyclist or motorist quite a jolt, literally.There are so many potholes that one has a feeling one is driving on a bed of stones.The question of a smooth ride at some speed simply does not arise.If this is the condition of the roads of a metro city which is a state capital and a business hub,one can imagine the state of roads else where.
With the monsoon round the corner and Asia Cricket Cup a couple of months away, the city roads need immediate repair.In particular the main artery the Anna Salai, Dr Radhakrishnan Salai,C.K. Naidu Stadium Road and Marina Beach Cresent Road need immediate remetalling.
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper I appeal to the Chennai Municipal Corporation to take immediate steps o do necessary.Chennai deserves better roads gentlemen.
